Anti Ragging Rules :
In exercise of the power conferred by Clause (g) of Sub-Section (1) of Section 26 of the University Grants Commission Act, 1956, the University Grants Commission hereby makes some Regulations called the “UGC Regulations on Curbing the Menace of Ragging in Higher Education Institutions, 2009”. It shall come into force with immediate effect to all the universities established or incorporated by or under a Central Act, a Provincial Act or a State Act, to all institutions deemed to be university under section 3 of the UGC Act, 1956, to all other higher educational institutions. Including the departments, constituent units and all the premises (academic, residential, sports, canteen etc.) of such universities / deemed universities and other higher educational institutions, whether located within the campus or outside, and to all means of transportation of students whether public or private.
As per UGC’s regulations, it is mandatory for every student and his/her parents to submit an ‘Anti Ragging Affidavit’ at the time of admission and thereafter each year at the time of annual registration.
