Borrowing / Lending

Borrowing / Lending Section: Each student is provided with a Lending Card (two (2) for Honors and one (1) for General students) for borrowing books. Books can be borrowed for a period of fifteen (15) days. A fine of one rupee (Re. 1/-) per day per book will be charged if books not submitted / returned within due date.

Each full time faculties, part time faculties and non teaching staff can borrow ten (10) books each for a period of sixty (60) days and guest faculties can borrow two (2) books each for a period of fifteen (15) days from the library at a time respectively. A fine of three rupees (Rs. 3/-) per day per book will be charged if books not submitted / returned within due date.

Maximum one (1) extension (renewal) of the period of loan for another fifteen (15) days is possible if the book is brought to the library or the request is communicated through personal visit / telephone / e-mail, prior to the due date of return, provided there is no demand for the issued item from other members before or on the due date stamped. After one (1) extension the book has to be returned to the library and cannot be renewed for a second (2nd) time.

If library card (both for Lending and Reference) is lost duplicate card will be issued on submission of Rs. 20/- for each card.

. The teaching and non teaching staff who will be retiring shortly must have to return the library books before one (1) month of retirement. The library staff will convey the concerned teaching and non teaching staff regarding the books lending in his / her name before three (3) months of his / her retirement date.

Periodicals: Members can borrow three (3) back issues of select periodicals for a period of fifteen (15) days. Two (2) extensions of the period of loan for another fifteen (15) days is possible if the periodical (s) is brought to the library or the request is communicated through personal visit / telephone / e-mail, prior to the due date of return, provided there is no demand for the issued item from other members before or on the due date stamped. After two (2) extensions the periodical (s) has to be returned to the library and cannot be renewed for a third (3rd) time.
