Loss or Damage: Students are required to handle books and reading material very carefully. Marking library books with pencil or ink, tearing the pages or spoiling the same in any other way will be viewed very seriously. In such case, the last reader will be held responsible unless he shows the Librarian at the time of issue that the book had been previously marked or damaged. In the event of damage of any kind, the last reader will be liable to compensate for damage. Books will have to be replaced.
If a member loses or damages any book that (s) he has borrowed, it will have to be replaced by a new copy of the same or later edition at his / her cost. In the event of the book not being available or out of print in the market then similar type of books of the same standard should be returned, otherwise the published price of the book will have to be reimbursed to the library. No specimen copy in lieu of the lost book can be accepted by the library.
If a member loses or damages any periodical that (s) he has borrowed, it will have to be replaced by a new copy of the same at his / her cost. In the event of the periodical issue not being available, the published price of the particular issue will have to be reimbursed to the library.
In case of Indian publication, the amount to be paid for a lost book will be double the original price and in case of foreign publication, the amount to be paid will be three times the original price of the lost book.
Library Clearance: The College Leaving Certificate or Transfer Certificate will be issued to student only after he / she has returned all the Library books and cleared all library dues.
