About the Department:

Department of Bengali was established in 1972 from the very initial stage of Chakdaha College. Honours course of the Dept. started in 1991. There are three fulltime, two contractual fulltime and one part time posts in our Department sanctioned by the Govt. of West Bengal. Our honorable Principal Dr. Swagata DasMohanta also takes classes as per routine. Re-Unions and other cultural programmes are organized by our students regularly. Already a proposal for opening a PG course in the Department has been sent to the concerned authority.
