About the Department:

Department of Economics, Chakdaha College is one of the oldest departments of the College. It started its journey with the inception of the General course in 1972. Later on, it has been offering Honours Course in Economics since 1995. There are four sanctioned teaching posts and currently, two teaching posts are vacant. The Department has a long tradition of imparting quality education with its qualified faculty members and modernised classroom teaching techniques. Also, the department has a well-equipped computer laboratory with networking facilities for the students. Right from its inception, the department has been producing so many meritorious students who have claimed high scores at the UG level under the University of Kalyani.
