Academic & Internal Examination Monitoring Cell

INTRODUCTION

The Cell, composed of the Heads of all the Departments and some office staff, aims at the smooth running of the institution’s educational environment so that the student-beneficiaries derive maximal benefit. The Cell, therefore, holds meetings at regular intervals to address academic issues viz.completion of syllabus, infrastructural requirements, scheduling Internal Assessments, etc in consultation with the Principal if/when necessary.

OBJECTIVES / ACTIVITIES

Growing a healthy,student-friendly, interactive,technology-based academia and keeping up a systematic evaluation for the betterment of students

An academic calendar is duly prepared in convergence with the University Schedule and guidelines, followed by both Day and Morning Sections (Programme Course only) of the College.

The students may approach the teachers and officestaff in regard to any academic or official queries/requirements both offline and online. The students are provided with desirable space for academic interaction inside the classrooms and online as well.As per the resolution of the Cell, the Master-routine has provided Departmental Library Work classes for the students of the Honours Course in which they may visit the respective libraries and seek guidance from the attending teachers.

Two Internal Assessments of Honours and Programme Courses in each Semester are held timely as per University guidelines. The Internals of Honours Departments are usually conducted by the respective Departments during the scheduled classhours on a single day and those of the Programme Courses are held centrally. The students are notified, at the minimum, seven days ahead. The 1st Internal Assessments are held on MCQ whereas the 2nd makes room for innovative modes of evaluation according to University-guidelines(seminar/assignment/viva-vocé).Students are allowed to see their checked answerscripts of Internals within the stipulated time-span and their doubts cleared. In a few classes, powerpoint presentations are delivered occasionally. But there are opportunities for further improvement.
