Ugc Sub-Committee and other Funding Monitoring Cell
INTRODUCTION
Chakdaha College has been recognized by UGC as a status as 2(f) and 12(B) under Kalyani University in 1973. This status is permanent for teaching up to under graduates’ level atKalyni University (Ref. UGC Website).
The college has formed a sub-committee from the beginning, named UGC-sub-committee under the supervision of the Head of the Institute (henceforth, HOI). This sub-committee name has been modified to “UGC sub-committee and other funding monitoring cell” in 2022. Presently, there are eleven members including the convenor of this sub-committee.
OBJECTIVES
There are many dynamic objectives of this sub-committee for the development of Chakadaha College. The primary objective and role of the UGC sub-committee in higher education are to communicate with funding agencies like UGC and other funding agencies. This committee not only communicates with the funding agency but also makes some proposals regarding college development for recommendation to the college authority for execution, at which students get more facilities in their academic life. The committee made the action plan & expenditure plan as per the guideline of the funding agency for application as well as approval from time to time.
The financial agencies provided financial assistance for collection development, acquisition of books and periodicals, purchase of furniture and equipment, construction of women's hostel and new library & other buildings, maintenance expenditure, etc. Other objectives and functions of this sub-committee are to submit the proper documents through HOI to the funding agency and monitor with HOI on the expenditure of sanction funds as per the agency’s guidelines in due course of time.
